Role Summary and Impact

The primary focus of the Strategy Director is the development of above-market media & connections strategies for Nestlé, across a range of different categories and brands, from brief to sign off, overseeing strategic alignment of activation across local teams.

Reporting to the Strategy Business Director, the successful candidate will work with a team of people from a range of specialists in the agency to develop insightful, impactful strategies. You are passionate and curious about media, brands and advertising and bring an interesting perspective to the team and clients. As a critical-thinker, you’re able to analyse information for insight and simplify the complex. The role involves senior client contact, on fast-paced, high-profile brands. It’s a great learning environment, with exposure to new and exciting industry developments and leading experts.

  1. Core strategic and planning experience
  • Proven track record of developing innovative communication strategies and effective media plans.
  • Strong knowledge of all media and experience of planning across paid, owned and earned media.
  • Can consider/incorporate creator and content strategies as part of the mix.
  • Experience both of in-market and above market/multi-market media strategy and planning.
  • A strong understanding of social and digital first activation strategies, with experience working with online communities a plus.
  • Creative and innovative in approach, can progress projects and ideas.
  • Experience of working on large brands and scaled projects.
  • Ability to translate complex client challenges into clear, actionable strategic solutions.

 

 

  1. Communication skills and teamwork
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills including evidence of simple strategy design and presentation at a mid to senior client level.
  • Clarity of communication.
  • Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams – from creative agency to channel, platform and data specialists.
  • Has integrity with deadlines and deliverables, builds trust with clients and team.
  • Builds strong connections with in-market and cross regional teams.
  • Organised and can work at pace.

 

 

  1. Audience, insight, tools
  • Some experience with 1,2,3 PD and how different data can be used to fuel insight, planning and activation.
  • Enjoys seeking out trends with an eye on what’s happening in media and culture that could be relevant for brands.
  • Experience using, and understanding of application, of syndicated research tools, consumer research methodologies & techniques e.g. GWI, eMarketer, WARC, BrandWatch etc, as well as ability to quickly learn new tools, data and processes as required.
